Put partially colonized tub into fruiting? Oversaturated substrate
    #27026196 - 11/07/20 06:44 AM (3 years, 2 months ago)

I spawned over a month ago, and my substrate (uncased coir/verm) is only this far along:

My assumption is it's stalling because I overmisted when I spawned (it seemed a little below field capacity but I think I WAY overdid it). Last time I did virtually everything the same except for the excessive misting, and it colonized fully in 11 days. Should I keep letting it colonize slowly or just put it into fruiting as is? Seems like fruiting could possibly help dry it out a little

Stop misting and wait to see what happens.

It hasn't been misted since it was spawned, it was just that once. It's looked pretty much the same for about a week now

Patience is key in this hobby. You might have done enough damage by over saturating the substrate or you might not.

Give it some time to dry out if you think your sub is too wet.

Personally I keep many projects in the works so I can afford to lose a tub that was prepped/cared for incorrectly. The most important yield from those tubs is experience and how to implement it in the future.

Forgot to post an update, but I noticed these little white spots on the 9th.

Was hoping it was just dense myc, but alas. Here it is on 11/11

Baby's first contam! Oh well, I'll have to be more careful with sterile procedures next time. Thanks for the advice, anyway!
