Spawn ratios 2020

From time to time you see the spawn ratio discussion pop up, usually centered around amount of grain:coir ratio, simplified. For the purpose of future posters searching the forums, i added 2020.
What is ideal, what gives good yields for least cost and effort? 1:x
Trying to give this thread a good start, I feel like it has to address the core issue many people will consider during their growing, aka:
"What is the ideal spawn ratio of grain to coir?"
But more than this, what is the general appreciated mechanism, and that question is:
"At what point or ratio does adding more water and coir, fizzle out?" Is it the general understanding today, that more coir and water, equals more yield, with the usual diminished gains if if I go extreme?

I do cakes into coir and verm. I rip off a chunk of coco coir(The stuff is like a brick) boil the shit out of that. Drain some of the water add what looks to be an equal amount of verm and a tablespoon of gypsum. I PC that for 1h5m. Put 2 parts base 1 part layer 1cake 1mix middle and 1 part top. My problem is not putting enough coco coir mix since I am doing it 8 qrts at a time. Works pretty good and has been for at least a month. I do not get tubs full I just get constant streams of material from 14 tubs I have. Every one of them did something. the only issue I ran into was mini feeble mushrooms in some of my containers.

I believe anywhere between 1:2 and 1:4 is the standard practice. What someone chooses depends on preference. Correct me if I'm wrong but lower spawn ratios would be more ideal for a one flush and done type grow. While higher spawn ratios would be for those looking to get multiple flushes from each tub. The first flush is usually the heaviest and because of grow space limitations folks may lean more toward the one flush and done type of grow.
