My Wagner pasturizer build
    #27024019 - 11/05/20 09:08 PM (3 years, 2 months ago)

So I saw Akiras Wagner 705 steamer pasturizer tek and right away knew I needed to build one with a few adjustments as I hate using my pc to pasturize and my husband wont let me stick shit in the oven to cook. I finished the build yesterday and decided to do a trial run with 5 bags of hpoo 3quarts each bag. This thing is the tits!!!! Took 15 min to get to 170 internally and another 5 or so to get bags up to 170. Temps kept keeping higher so I actually had to lift the lid to allow some steam to escape. Opening it about an inch and half held temps steady while steamer continued to run. 90 min later I have some steaming bags of shit. Heres what I did differently. I grabbed a 64 liter coleman cooler from Canadian tire. I actually used copper piping throughout as it is a better conductor of heat than PVC. In the copper tube I drilled small holes on the top as well as the sides. Then capped the ends of the tubing. I also installed a drain on the side of the cooler with a spigot to drain the water out after it is done. I have 2 meat probe thermometers in the lid. One to measure the temp inside cooler and the other gets directly inserted into the bag to measure temp of hpoo. (Ideally I wanted a probe thermometer with the long wire but couldnt find one so I improvised with another long solid probe one for now) I also plan to instal a valve on the lid to help regulate the steam temp as like I said I had to actually crack the lid to keep it from rising. A valve would be perfect. That's pretty much it so didnt do much in terms of altering Akiras main tek but I absolutely love how this baby works so I needed to share
