Floundering monotub?
    #27023652 - 11/05/20 05:06 PM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Hello all!

This is my first time growing.

I've got five monotubs of different strains growing right now, to various success. This is a real learning process, but I think it's going fairly well for a first timer.

I've got a monotub of cambodian angkor watt on rye berries. I spawned to bulk on a coir/vermiculite/gypsum substrate about a month ago, and I allowed them to consolidate for about ten days.

They've been open to air in a spare room with a few windows in the room. We regularly mist and fan them by hand.

These look particularly short and thin before their veil bursts in comparison with some other monotubs we have

Any suggestions? I have read that long thin fruits can he indicative of minimal FAE, but we're treating this batch the same as other more successful ones.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

They look soaked.  Shouldn't really have to mist a mono until after the first flush.

Thank you both. we will adjust some things. Our hypothesis was that they were growing that way due to insufficient light - which might actually be the case if they were too wet!

I did notice that the two tubs we have closer to our heater were doing better - maybe they weren't so moist!

Only mist a mono when it looks dry and NEVER fan a mono.

Fanning is a great way to ruin a tub. Take the lid off those and give them
a while to dry out a bit. Only mist when the surface looks visibly dry and
absent of little water drops.
