Hey guys! Psilocybe Fimetaria or what?
    #27020979 - 11/04/20 08:36 AM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Hey people! First post from me on the forums. Been lurking for a year or so now - great community.

So hi

I've been out hunting for mushrooms on cow fields today around my town in Denmark.

I stumbled across a close gathering of these mushrooms that I just picked up to gather experience with mushrooms in general, (I was on the hunt for liberty caps). To my surprise they bruised blue when I picked em up.

Been searching abit on the net now, and the closest I get to something that it could be would be Psilocybe Fimetaria.

What mushroom do you reckon it is?

Thanks!

/Jeppe

These look more like some kind of Stropharia (pseudocyanea?) to me than psilocybe. Are you sure that the stems weren't blue before you picked them? Because Stropharia has natural blue coloring on the stem, which isn't actually caused by bruising.

I googled up pseudocyanea and it sure looks like them doesn't it

I picked em up by grasping em close to the base of the grass they grew in, and thats where the blue color is mostly comming from, so I mightve been mistaken :/ Damn!
Any others to confirm?

and thanks for taking your time to respond <3

This is a Stropharia, they were already bue when you found them, correct? Psilocybe can have bluish bruising present before they are handled but then you would see more bruising occur wherever they are handled or injured.
