Mushrooms have NOT been legalized at all by measure 109.
All measure 109 does is just let people have access to therapy with mushrooms.
Under measure 109 it is still illegal to possess mushrooms, it is still illegal to grow mushrooms, it is still illegal to sell mushrooms, and it is still illegal to consume mushrooms outside of sessions with a therapist.
Measure 109 did absolutely nothing to "legalize" mushrooms or remove penalties from possessing/growing/consuming them.
But there was another measure that passed in Oregon, measure 110, and that one I applaud and support all the way!.....Measure 110 essentially decriminalized possession of all drugs in Oregon and treats drugs as a public health issue intead of a criminal issue. So now if one is caught in possession of mushrooms, or personal amounts of any other drug, they will only get a small fine and that fine can be waived entirely simply by going to an addiction recovery center for an evaluation (instead of a jail cell). And those centers will be available in all parts of the state 24 hours a day.
In some ways, measure 110 has put an end to the "war on drugs" in Oregon . It's a similar model that Portugal has been using with great success for over a decade now but it's even better IMO.
Big props to Oregon

The important question one should ask it is "what does it take to become a therapist?"
Is that a protected profession or is it like being a coach? I mean everybody can be a coach after a couple hours of training. At least here in NL

Not protected. You could pour jugs of milk over your clients and call it Milk Therapy and yourself a Lactotherapist.

Mushroom therapists and mushroom clinic-resorts where people from all over the weekend can check in for a weekend and undergo psilocybin group therapy.

I'm pretty certain a license is required to be a therapist, tho what it takes to get that license I'm not sure. The Oregon Health Authority is what will oversee and approve licensed therapists to hold these sessions at approved clinics/places.
One will already need to have a license before they're able to apply though, it's not like anyone can just call themselves a therapist and then start charging people to come over to their house to eat mushrooms.
The Oregon Health Authority will determine who is eligible to be licensed as a facilitator, determine what qualifications, education, training, and exams are needed, etc....OHA will set psilocybin dosage standards and labeling and packaging rules.
Someone else noted tho, that in the wording & details of it all, no where does it state that a medical condition is required to have a "session" at these "clinics", it sounds like basically anyone 21+ can have access to the sessions (I'm super curious what the cost is going to be like) . So "recreational trip centers" might actually be a thing a few years down the road, but everything and everyone there will still have to be licensed and approved by the OHA.

Unless the law states that these alkaloids are no longer subject to prosecution and the government steps away completely I am opposed to this new measure.
Plus genetic sterilization like Crisp mentioned.
Meh Oregon simultaneously decriminalized all drugs and lowered felony amounts to misdemeanors... Your fears are unfounded. You're free to grow weed here untaxed and you're less likely than ever to be penalized for taking or buying drugs than ever before.

Exactly. They aren't legalizing it for personal recreational use, only therapeutic use from a fucking licensed dispensary or licensed psychologist or whatever. Any random person caught with mushrooms in their car after getting pulled over is still going to go to jail. And yeah here comes all the bullshit regulation and taxes just like with marijuana legalization. I can do my own fucking psychology therapy with mushrooms and myself I don't need a fucking certified psychedelic therapist who probably doesn't know as much as I know about tripping. Tripping in a clinical setting would give me a bad trip.

I know I'm a paranoid person and may be over analyzing it but yeah I just don't know about this. What is that process even going to be like? You schedule an 8 hour therepist appointment to get a dose and trip while your at the office for it to be a legal experience? I'm all for making it legal once again and nothing more. Not controlling and industrializing it.
