Species identification?
    #27020558 - 11/04/20 12:25 AM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Hey everyone I found these today in woodchips (dried mushrooms) and then damp fields (young wet mushrooms). Today is 27 degrees and has been the warmest sunniest day since raining for a week. Thanks again!

Hi NB, the first three pics look like some kind of inactive Panaeolus sp., the desiccated looking one growing on wood chips is hard to ID without more info (including a gill shot). R_D

First species is Panaeolus acuminatus.

Hard to say anything about the others without a gill shot and/or fresh specimens.

Thanks for the replies  I'm wondering, would it be wrong to assume that active panaeolus could grow in the same environment due to them being from the same genus?

For the 1st 2 pictures, if no dung is present I agree with Anglerfish, but if they are growing from dung I would say Panaeolus papilionaceus.

The last picture reminds me of Coltricia but I need to see more pictures of the underside to say for sure.
