"Monotube" and trays relation
    #27020652 - 11/04/20 02:54 AM (4 years, 2 months ago)

When doing a monotube, it make any sense divide the bulk mix in different trays? (one tray for grain jar or smth)

:mushroom2:

Could this help if the mono gets contam or smth? (removing the afected part) Just curiosity.
Maybe its not worth it because contams usually spread pretty fast, and maybe it dont event need contact between bulk's.

Also, if you divide the bulks in trays, it would reduce the final flush? I mean, its better for one fungus have more space, like a full bottom tube? or in the sum of the trays will producce be the same quantity of mushrooms (apx).

Not really my situation atm, but just for fungi-curiosity reseach and so hahaha

Thank you ~ ♡

I believe it's a good idea during the colonization period, to basically just have multiple smaller totes of colonizing substrate, in a larger tote. Like 4 quadrants in a large tub, which you could then float on top of water, which sits in another large tub, add a heater, adjust temp or whatever.
With fruiting you could probably be able to better determine the speed of 1)colonization of 4 separate substrates, 2)pinning formation and fruiting performance of 4 separate substrates.
I don't know about contaminates spreading and yield comparison though.
