pins, or noticeable lack thereof

so i put 7 jars in my terrarium (14gal. rubbermaid tub, 40w light bulb, perlite), last thursday, and none of them are pinning. the first couple of days, more mycelium grew on the existing myc., so i reduced the amount of light/heat they got (timer is now set to leave the light on 1 out of every 3 hours). it's so humid in there that my glasses fog up every time i peer inside, but alas, i do not have a hygrometer, so i'm not sure if it's really humid enough. the temperature fluctuates a little, but it stays between 70 and 80 degrees. the cakes seem like they may have been dried out by the light (mycelium is a little blue on a few of them). pictures may be forthcoming.

what can i do to give 'em a boost?

you could stabilize the temperature as close as you can to 74, if you dont have any pins and the cake looks dry you could dunk the cake and cold shock it. Otherwise just fan, mist (dont mist the cakes directly) and wait. Oh yeah and shrooms dont need a whole lot of light, a few seconds of light a day is more than enough.

it can take up to 2 weeks to get pins on a cake.
