So I suppose there are a couple of ways of looking at it.
- If you're struggling to maintain surface conditions with the lids off in the martha then your martha doesn't have high enough RH. So you could increase the foggers/misters/whatever in there.
- If your monotubs were doing well with the lids on then just close them up again. Then you don't need to worry about keeping the martha humid. You could leave the door open, or remove the cover.
You won't find much info on running monotubs in a martha as it's not really a standard tek. IMO it sounds like the monotubs were doing well covered so I would chuck the lids back on, read up on monotubs (there is _a lot_ of info on monotubs on shroomery), and just forget about the martha for now. Switch off the humidifiers and keep the door open.
Some one else may have a different take on it all.
I'm not sure what's going on with your substrate though. It looks kind of clumpy and not that 'fluffy' which could be contributing to the slow down in colonisation. I know when I first attempted to go to bulk without reading my substrate was way to wet and clumpy so the myc never really colonised it. It eventually just fruited the best it could.

A while ago I used to put tubs into my martha when they were fruiting just because it looked so damn cool with the fog pouring over the canopies of mushrooms. Now I use it as a shelf. Maybe ill dig out the plastic cover from the closet and re assemble it for the ATL#7 tubs ive got colonizing.
No joke tho, It looked so goddamn cool.

Nice setup 👍. I thinking I’m gonna buy a Martha. I was told you get better flushes if you have a Martha setup correct.

I know what u mean it looks right awesome. I have my banana ball python in her enclosure that has a fogger in it and it looks so cool to see her slithering around in the mist

I am thinking part of the problem is with my humidifiers. I have a reptifogger that is set up to a controller to keep humidity at 95 and then I have a cool mist in there as well on an interval timer to offset the fogger with keeping RH up as the fogger will run through entire water supply quickly just to maintain humidity on it's own. Because of all this I think it's just saturating the air and makes rediculous condensation on martha walls but not on my substrates. I wonder if I switch to have the cool mist on RH controller and have fogger on interval timer? Next run I will def scrap tubs in there and just do some foil pan casings with liners in Martha I think. The substrate looks a bit crumbly because they are pretty dry. These are on mid shelf. I have to keep spraying em even tho the ones on top shelf are hydrated well. You'd think with the RH high enough I shouldnt have to mist at all

NecroMyce said: Look up “willy myco” on YouTube. He has a bulk pasteurize tek using a mini tub, seems legit. I’ve used the “damion elementary tek” in bulk, just double, tripled etc.. the recipe, field capacity was trash, and it amounted to more than what I needed so I had to trash the rest, but it technically worked lol
Please for the love of Gawd do not look up willy myco! He’s the type of guy that wipes his scalpel with iso after he flames it.... “free air exchange” like “fresh air exchange” costs money or something. Sorry...my two cents

I’ve been following Willy myco mini mono tub and:

First try at a “tub.” I think his videos are good to “get your feet wet.” I know you more experienced growers go crazy hearing people following his teks. I think he’s marketing his teks way more. I believe people here have better teks to get you that great pinset. I’m learning that mushroom cultivation is all about experience.
