Finally got some fruiting going on in bags. Except the fruits in my PE6 bags are albino so there's that. Not sure what happened there.
Feels good to have fruits again though. What a horrible time October was.

Yeti beginning to pin nicely. Very slow though.

Also, found a sprout growing out of the sub... No signs of contam though. Well other than the sprout.

How many generations of g2g can you do? I've only ever did 1 from my master jars.

I did 18 G2G once with a clone before it ran out of steam.

I imagine as long as your technique is dialed and you maintain clean myc. I never would have thought you could do 18 tho?! That's crazy.

4 is my max had serous issues over 4 tbh it was probably my own fault so many risk factors go up when you do that much...

What factors? Expansion is expansion amount is almost irrelevant.

You can go 18 generations with a few jars or 100.

Biggest potential issue is bacteria sneaking up but I feel with good spawn it’s rarely an issue. I did run the culture past agar every couple just to make sure it’s clean. But my main goal was to see how far I could run it before it fell apart. The 18 expansions does include some expansion on agar, probably just under 4 P values which I felt was pretty good. One day I may do a log of something similar but right now LC allows for too much expansion to worry about such things.

I went up to 10.

I g2g the master jar into 7. Spawn 6 and g2g the 7th into the next batch.

that is a generation right?

Not really a generation, that’s from spores. But IIRC some consider a G2G a P value if you wanted to put a metric on it.

That's the gamble of transferring.like paste they said I would not go over four honestly because of the bacterial issue. I mean you're talking about to do seven transfers probably close to four months worth of old grain. It takes me two weeks to colonize a one-quart jar from a 10 to 1 ratio. Now do that seven more times That's 14 weeks

If I'm doing MSS g2g, I'd expect the G2G to run more generations than that due to genetic variability, hey?
I'm starting isolations from a MSS as well (currently t2), but the steam is more likely to run out on clones as it's genetically isolated?
Does this sound correct?

Not really. While I might run a clone a bit more simply to obtain it, genetic variation does nothing to extend the lifespan of the organism. It’s like thinking people live longer in dense cities compared to rural areas simply because there are more people there.

Ooh ok. So I got a print, grow it out/put to grains, get fruits. Print those and that's gen 2?

I put pics in the cultivation of the day thread. Right now my mood couldn't be any happier after seeing those bags with fruit in them this morning I checked those monotubs I had been misting down with BTI that I had expected to turn green last week and they're fuuuuucking full of pins and knots.

I assume final harvest weight will be impacted but at this point they're the first monotubs in over a month that haven't been affected by mold and despite the bacteria they seem to be doing great. Way more knots and pins around that weird myc growth than in the spots without it.

I thought for sure cultivating was over for me. Fackin stoked!

F “value” is the “Filial generation”

Ah ok... I just figured that an MSS tub has multiple genetic variation of the organism so if one was fading, another would replace it.

Regardless, I'm chasing out isolations on agar.  I believe I have enough bags for the first round (depending on contamination), and have next round growing out in jars.  Once those jars go to bags, it'll be A2G into the jars.  Plan is to use the leftover plates after further isolations.  I'll start cloning once I finally get fruit and find one worthy....
Following this process, I can't see myself getting past 3-4 transfers for a long time. I figure if I take a clone from each tub started with an MSS.  I'll likely have the same number of genetic variants as I will tubs.  Once the clones start moving thorough, it'll be a different beast.

Does this logic seem sound?

So when are you going to do it live YouTube show for everybody? Where am I so we can't tell what you look like but teach us all of this show us how you do your transfers and everything?

Don't take offense to this but you could be our willymyco but actually know what you're doing!

You amaze me honestly you have been a member of this form for years and years! You are very well known throughout all of mycology. I mean I'm suprized your not a owner of one of these venders or something.
