Everything is coming along nicely,Rye is almost fully colonized now and popcorn is well under way.
Ive put all varieties to Agar and will be isolating them and saving the best ones on slants for the future.

I love popcorn. Going to grow an acre of it this year.

Hey im no expert but i might suggest not doing transfers with objects upwind. your petris are probably pretty clean but even so they create eddies in front of the petri your working with. also i like to work a little closer to the filter but maybe thats just my personal preference.
sorry if i missed it but what are the tools youre working with, i see a scalpel and ...?? an antler?? what is that? anyways nice setup, very clean.

Thanks for the tip! I will definitely take that into consideration, and keep that in mind for the future 🍄🤝
Its a custom made punch, made from deer antler, with inlays of mother of peal and turqoise lol 🤷♂️ Pretty extra i know but its extra long so i never have to worry about it heating up too much in the Bacti cinerator and looks great 🤌

I let the corn simmer for 45 minutes on high,rinse,strain and let dry for about 30 minutes,jar the corn,PC at 15-17psi for 1:45hrs - 2:00hrs. I do 1:50hrs🍄

Corn seems better suited to make mash than mush.

Yeah I got a lot of hate when i first joined for using popcorn as well. Haven't used it in a while but I enjoyed working with it when I did. Easy prep and myc seemed unbothered by it. The large kernel size is the main reason I switched to WBS.
