As many of you know. COVID has caused a mason jar shortage, which in turn has made it impossible to find wide mouth mason jars.
So all that is left on the shelves was regular mouth 32 ounce jars. Amazon is selling the good stuff for 500$ extra per bottle because price gauging.
I bought the 32 ounce and holy moly, I had no idea it would take this long to colonize. Looking at the jar, It would have been done long ago if it were a half pint or even a full pint jar.
For the experienced grower, could you answer these questions?
CONDITIONS: 75F STEADY. BRF AND VERMICULITE PERFECT RATIOS. STERILE. PERFECT FAE. NO LIGHT. AVERAGE GENES FROM MS SYRINGE. NORMAL CUBENSIS STRAIN *eg not PE* (Like B+, Golden teacher, amazonian, Which I heard are all similar)
How long would a
half pint jar
pint jar
and 32 ounce jar
Take to colonize? (I know it depends but just give me your guess)

Even if you made every variable exactly the same, you could still end up with different results every time if using MS syringes. Genetics place a large factor in growing speed. I have had jars fully colonize in as little as 10 days when those same jars take 2 weeks or more to colonize using a different syringe.

I recently used MS Syringe with all the exact same parameters as you listed and it took 3 weeks to fully colonize, and another week to consolidate. Worst genes ever. You never know with MS really.

Start running small grain jars rather than large cakes

all my half pint cakes are typically taking 3-4 weeks from noc to birthing, that's various varieties from multispore syringes
are my methods perfect? unlikely... but I don't think that sorta time frame is really all that uncommon
and yes what smartattack said there too, I use the pint jars as grain jars because they fit in my dinky european PC (10 liter) better than larger jars do, allowing me to do more grain per run. I guess bags would probably work best for grain per run efficiency in my situation but they are hard to get here
