How do you know you’re not contagious?

How is a test a false positive when it’s accurately detecting viral rna? That’s literally how the test works.

Whether you are contagious or not is a whole different issue.

I’m really confused as to the problem you are having since people are assumed to be no longer contagious ten days after symptoms resolve, not whether they still test positive. Secondly, nobody is forcing anyone into quarantine unfortunately.

Hamhead telling us about PCR is pretty cute. Like having a 7 year old kid tell you the ins and outs of shifting a race car.
Well I read!

It's not about scaring people.  I'm certainly not scared.  It's about giving information.  The total number of people infected is the most important number as far as seeing how close/far we are from herd immunity.  It's also an incredibly important number in terms of measuring the effectiveness of countermeasures designed to stop the spread.

Forced into quarantine?  I haven't heard of this happening.  Do you have a source?

Prolonged viral RNA shedding, which is known to last for weeks after recovery, can be a potential reason for positive swab tests in those previously exposed to SARS-CoV-2.

Because case counting is being used to create fear. You should know, you do it all the time around here.

If I am not contagious after 10 days of infection, why should I worry about testing positive 6 weeks later?

Thanks for your insults.

PCR test only captures parts of RNA strands, not the whole thing.

You can read into them if you like, but I doubt you will.

Wow, you are either completely dishonest or unable to read.  "ten days after symptoms resolve" isn't the same as "after 10 days of infection."

People don't know they're infected unless symptoms are present.

Or, if you take a test.

Is it really?

Why does it matter is I test positive if I never present symptoms?

Oh, I forgot, I just picked up a pre-existing health condition and can now scam insurance companies.

How can we be 8 months into this and he still doesn’t know people without symptom are still infectious and they are actually shedding virus longer than people who get sick.
