What you know about Bufo alvarius? Good milking techniques, feeding diets, just stuff you've done.

I wish I could help you brother, my advice would be to smoke a bunch of weed and meditate with the toad; then wipe it down with some kind of cloth, respectfully, like your honoring it and cleaning it, then take that cloth and soak it in water, then drink the water and see what happens lol
p.s. i'm glad someone laughed at my joke u amanita

CaptainFuture has some. Here is a link to his website. He's seldom logged on here but he could give you some insight if the info on his website isn't enough. Good luck with your pets

You would need to milk the glands to get the venom from the toad unfortunately wiping them down would not be effective. . Think popping a pimple and you'll get the idea how it's done and what it looks like.

If you're in FL it's a Cane Toad. They look very similar but please don't milk- IIRC they're actually toxic to people but not in the good way.
Would recommend checking out the multitude of toad licking threads on here, very similar to yours.

The ones I came across in Ft Laud ate cat food. Doubt that's a substantial diet, try Google.

And just a heads up, they are super invasive and destructive towards the environment.

They exist above the ground for just a couple months a year during the brief rainy season my guess is any old crickets or grasshoppers would be fine and they won't be picky. Standard reptile chow from the pet shop should be adequate.

Have you seen Hamiliton's Phramacopica "The Psychedelic Toad" episode? If not, check it out.
Theres also a person in TPE who raises Colorado River Frogs. Unfortunately, I forgot his screen name.

I did see Hamiltons video on it. It has some holes though, he says that the Bufo alveruis toad species is endanger of extinction yet a quick search will say it's the largest toad species in NA and least concerned.

Yeah, CaptainFuture's captive toads are super healthy looking. He's also a super nice guy who would surely give you some tips on keeping toads.
I grew up in an area where they are native and made friends with one when I was young. They only come out for a couple months during rain season. It's favorite foods that I saw were the brown junebugs and flying ants(males and queens on their mating flights). I'm sure they are pretty adaptable and would eat many other insects, but those seemed to be what it preferred...or what was around in the months it was out

CaptainFuture is the man. He will no doubt make time to share his knowledge with you. But as I mentioned he's rarely on here. You should hit him up via his website if you've got specific questions. Again best of luck. I hope your buddies thrive in your care.
