Beige/Yellowish hue in Mycellium - is it contamination? (pics)
    #27010972 - 10/29/20 06:42 PM (4 years, 2 months ago)

The yellowish hue is barely visible to the naked eye. On close examination, it appears almost beige. The jar does not smell and the closest I've seen to this are "metabolites" which does not necessarily mean a ruined jar.

And input would be appreciated. Would like to determine if the jar should be tossed or not.

Even if it's just metabolites -- that early in the run would strongly indicate contamination.

With that being said, don't toss it before 100% confirming it is contaminated.

Hmm, it looks like healthy mycellium, the color is juuuuust barely with a yellow hue. I guess time will tell. The rest of the growths look very healthy. I hope I don't have to toss this one - its the biggest one of all the jars.

:whathesaid:

This looks like too much condensation for this early in the colonization process. It's normal to see during/after consolidation, but not usually at the beginning of colonization.
