At ordinary times the eye concerns itself with such problems as where? — how far? — how situated in relation to what? In the mescaline experience the implied questions to which the eye responds are of another order. Place and distance cease to be of much interest. The mind does its perceiving in terms of intensity of existence, profundity of significance, relationships within a pattern."

yessss sirrr. Spore print will be white. Variety is hard to say and doesn’t matter much unless you’re really into Amanitas. It’s got in between coloring but it’s not yellow or a distinct orange so probably just a typical A. muscaria.

Location? Looks like amanita persicina. Not saying it 100% is but with amanita muscaria location is important.

location is ashville nc . visiting family there and went to looking glass rock? not sure it's name but it's a huge bald granite(?) outcrop within the national park. they must have had burn there in a clearing . under a canopy of dense white pines (?) pines to be sure . the stems when I pulled them out were attached to the runners of the pine species .

I think you could be right .
www.amanitaceae.org/?Amanita+persicina
however I've noticed from these pics that there are far greater warts distributed across the cap tops than persicina
I'm not sure if that even matters
the first pic on the site looks closest to mine the other pics look not so much as the ones around where I picked them due to there were warts all over the premature caps.
the photos on the site seem to have a silk smooth flesh on the top with a dash of warts.
mine are covered as with all of the ones I left behind to respore the site.

Here's a decent muscaroid distribution map. Looks like persicina would be in your area by the map.
