Quick slurry Tek question

I did a slurry spawn transfer last night for the first time. I did equal parts water and it was more on the "muddy" side. I also mixed the grain after.
It's been 24 hours and no sign of colonization and I'm wondering if it's just going to be slower due to using less water than I was supposed to and mixing the grain.

Thicker is not necessarily bad, and has the benefit of not causing moisture to pool at the bottom of your spawn. How much slurry did you add to how much grain?

See,that's what I thought. Too much water is supposed to be a bad thing, but the tek made it seem like it wasn't.
They are all colonizing now,I was just trying to get that 3 day colonization that is talked about.
The directions said 2 tablespoons per quart jar,but I made bags. I also bought the wrong oster blender and couldn't make the special container and the container that came with it melts when Pc'd.
So I used boiling water to sterilize the container/water. Then I broke up a spawn bag and just poured it in. I probably put closer to 4 tablespoons in each...more in some.
I actuallly have a very large laminar flow hood that was from a lab that closed down,so I do everything inside that. I was told that the certification was over 2 years expired, but that it was run in a clean room for medical purposes. So I just have to hope that half assing things/allowing "open" air isn't a problem.
That's actuallly another question I've been meaning to ask for awhile... what the odds are that the hepa filter is still good and how I would ever even know.

You could test your flow hood by unsealing some fresh agar plates In front of it and letting the flow run over them for a while. Then seal them back up and see if any got contam. Not a perfect test obviously but can give you an idea if it’s at least doing something.

That is an excellent idea. Thank you!
The bags fully colonized after 6 days. Beautiful looking. When I made them I let the flow hood run for a few hours before because I got sidetracked. I think that might have helped, tbh
