For people with bad posture * 3
    #27009594 - 10/29/20 03:16 AM (3 years, 3 months ago)

I work out a lot, but I also have the ability to work from home and sit and play video games or watch YouTube videos or whatever other lazy activity I want at the same time. Anyone who does the same, or has a desk job should follow this video

Despite how much I lift or run and have been for a while, it doesn't seem to fully reverse the damage done by sitting too often or even over working certain muscles. If you sit a lot, you likely have anterior pelvic tilt and rounded shoulders, which also gives you that dorky turkey neck look. You also are likely to have weak hip flexors and weak hamstrings, at least compared to what they could be, and tight abs which can actually make you look and feel perpetually bloated if they don't get the stretch they need. And working out can actually make some issues worse. I'm a strong guy but it only somewhat recently occured to me that even slightly bad posture can really hinder my progress. These issues can also be bad for digestion and if you have sinus issues, even correcting your posture can help because the changes in your posture can affect the way you breathe, which can even affect the actual shape of your face and never in a good way.

Not expecting to have much traffic on this post here but I figured I'd bring it up because it's an issue that's becoming more and more common, and I feel much better after following this routine. Doesn't have to be this specific routine, any amount of stretching and strengthening of necessary muscles will help but this one was my favorite routine so far.

Yeah. I know tons of people with bad posture, and they also know they do, but it seems like a lot of them don't even have an interest in correcting it for some reason, even people who will put in the effort to gain muscle or become faster or increase their endurance. So I thought about that after doing this and figured there's probably some people on here that are also aware but haven't put much thought into improving it either.

There is nowhere near enough 'physical wellbeing' posts in the Physical and mental well-being forum

Again, kudos to you.

Athlean-X (jeff) is great. Super knowledgeable!

As an aside-- He diminishes the credibility of his material when he periodically throws around fake weights in his vids.

True. I'm not exactly sure why he does that. He's pretty strong, but people don't really come to his videos for strength advice as much as for things like building muscle and leaning out and general physical health topics.
