First time grower, need input.

Hey everyone, this is my first grow so I’m just curious how everything is looking to someone more experienced. Humidity is 80-90% and temp is 72. I just recently covered more holes in my fruiting chamber to try and find that right balance of FAE/Humidity. I started to notice more knots forming over the past 48 hours.

Just making sure I’m on the right track. I’ve gone off of YouTube up to this point, this is my first time talking to people about it lol

Stick to the Shroomery man! There are awesome people in here who can do wonders to help, I've seen a couple YT channels and in here growers are light years ahead of the teks presented in YT videos, for real.
-------------------- If any of the said above is incorrect, please correct me! Still learning here and constructive criticism is the best

I believe taking info from all sources is a good idea, but I’m just coming here asking if it looks ok. I bought the “all in one” grow bag off Etsy and there wasn’t many videos on YouTube explaining the method.

Yeah, yt can be helpful to get started but if you want to get into this hobby, like really into it, this is the place to learn... years of r+d and plenty of pros who are usually helpful, as long as you take the time to search stuff out...
Stick with it!

Yeah, I don't see anything that would indicate contamination... how big is that cake? I see it was an all-in-one grow bag... how long has it been in the chamber?

It’s a 2.5lb cake. It was in the bag for a little over a month and today is day 3 in the chamber.

There’s knots and no bruising so I’d say you’re doing ok so far. It’ll prob pin within a few days.

Man... if you had some coir, you could easily expand that to a mono... probably have a better chance... i can understand if you dont, but more surface area (to an extent) usually means more mushies...

What is bruising a sign of? I’ve seen some posts say you get it from spraying too much water on the block. Thanks for the input bro.

bruising is just from being handled rough... there are certain contams that can cause it also, but ive personally never seen it.

I think next go around I’ll try a mono tub. I kept to the instructions since it’s my first grow. I enjoy learning new things so no matter what I’ve enjoyed this so far. I tried the BRF tek and ended up getting contam in all 3 of my jars. I have a feeling I used too much liquid culture though and I threw off the moisture balance inside.

Rock on! Thats usually the biggest hurdle in this hobby... being patient! I know I've learned a lot from mycology... but if you think this waiting sucks, try growing pot! That shit takes almost 6 months!!

Depends on if you’re using photoperiods or auto flowers. But yes it definitely takes longer (;

lmao... i got into mush cult wayyy back in 08... just recently mad an account on here... but pot, I just started growing in Jan and had a few mini successes but now that I have legit genetics and trying to do everything to maximize yeild, seems like I'm hitting every bump in the road... i think I finally got the spider mite situation fixed, went to check on some clones and their little coir starters have mold on em! Like wtf!!

I’m more experienced with growing plants vs mushrooms for sure. But they’re both cool hobbies. You will learn something new every grow!
