Harvested from the wild and I'm wandering if there are health benefits to using it. I couldn't find anything in particular to this species online.

I'm pretty sure all Ganoderma species have the benefits associated to Ganoderic Acid. Some have lower concentrations but a KOH test, tests for just that and is used to positively ID Ganoderma.

To me, that looks like Ganoderma applanatum, but I'm not an expert at ID.

G. Lucidum has been widely studied so it's known that there aren't any toxins coming out in the extractions, I don't know of any Ganoderma's that have toxins that come out in extractions, but that isn't to say there is none.

I have considered applanatum but decided on resinaceum. Can't remember the reason though. Anyways... I've heard that all ganoderma have medicinal properties but I wanted to be sure. I'm not surprised cuz this things appear to be immortal. Lol. Some of them had worms eating though them and I could see mycelium filling the tunnels behind them.

And they look very similar to the ones you are growing now. I'm curious to see how it goes.

The ones I have don't have the white coating on the bottom that you can draw on :P (that characteristic is specific to applantum afaik.)
I'm also curious and hopeful that it fruits.
Thanks.

Yeah I don't think that's applanatum there, resinaceum is probably right. Should be about equivalent to lucidum in medicinals, most "red reishi" species are used interchangeably.
