Well fuck if you are getting that from a chamber with apparently zero gadgets there's no time to lose, I'm using the prints tomorrow. Don't keep it a secret too long though :oldman:

Balls are far better than perlite IMO. There are strategically placed holes in the bottom and below the level of the balls. It’s like a SGFC for people in dry climates. There are also holes in the lid.

Nice man that surface looks perfect. That’s sick you’re getting it like that without fog.

Have you grown pans a lot?

The balls are hydroton. I prefer them to perlite which compacts too much.

I did hit the casing with a mist a couple days back. But the chamber is working pretty good. I’ve not grown pans much and my last grow was like 5 years ago. I’m hopeful for these though.

If that chamber works for you I may bust out some pan prints I have and do something similar.

Okay I’ll give ya a little more. Here is a 66 quart Ezdialed mono cased in peat. They are tiny but it’s pinning. No idea how well it will do.

I'm rooting for the ezdial, just because of the "ez" part and not having to mess with hydroton. Your tray is doing pretty good in the hydroton chamber tho, just saw it in the pan thread. I want them pans for prints, if this works it's gonna be a godsend, don't have much time to dick around with foggers and what not...

So you are using just coir/verm no manure?? Will be interesting to see
how that goes.

Pans in monos can work well.
I had luck with Pan Cam Suphanburi Thailand using a regular mono with this hole config during fruiting,
using masking tape for the top holes to really reduce the airflow.

Calling it luck as I only did it once due to contams at second try, but working on it again as we speak.

Had good results. Don't want to derail this thread, photos and details can be found here:

No issues with the canna coco bricks? I have a whole bunch of these at home and was debating whether to use them or go and buy the pet store stuff. Although it doesnt say it on the label, on the canna website it does say that they put trich in it. Im assuming you used some sort of bucket like tek for the coco though right so it got enough heat to kill the trich if you arent having any issues.

So far no issues but I’m sad to report that the peat cased coir verm pan tub has triched out. Just a spot in the corner. I’ve salted as pins are already in so I might as well get something from it. But I totally blame the spawn, it was weak IMO. I’m just happy the poo trays are doing okay, probably the bacteria helped the weak spawn. The dry one in the mono even looks half ass okay to my noob eyes.

I’m totally resolved now to get busting on culture work to find something that will rock a big ass monotub.

Super interesting. Like you a full blown martha setup isn't ideal for me right now, so low tech fruiting is something I'm looking at. This, MacMerdin's sunk pot, SGFC, and stonesuns dub tub are all solid contender. If I can get enough good agar going I am try all three. I haven't been able to find tons of info on SS's dubtub. But sort of looks like four holes, three with polyfill, and one that is either taped over or totally open.

Looking at your photos in the pan thread it looks like you've got your top holes on the narrow end, one each side, then two low holes along the long sides?

Ignore me, I worked how to scroll and found the rest of your posts the detailed the setup!

Well the good pan tray is done and I got a couple printing. Took a clone as well. Found a spot of mold in it though, spawn is definitely suspect. But I’m pumped to have fruits in a dehydrator at any rate. Salted the spot and hopefully a second flush comes quick. But even if I gotta pitch it tomorrow I’m happy that I pulled 144 grams wet. Should be a nice taste for real.

Still got the abused tray to pull as well. I doubt it will be as good but I’m hoping to have close to an oz dry after all is done.

Damn that's a nice flush from a low tech chamber and more so considering the spawn wasn't good.

A thing I quickly realized when I was trying my luck with pans (all failed attempts unfortunately) is that they're really sensitive to bacteria, more so than cubes. Anything except perfect spawn will most likely result in failure.

I completely agree man, I am still dialing in my WBS right now. It’s good enough for 3 flushes with cubes but not for pans. I’ve recently made a few adjustments to the prep that have worked well enough.
