PNW P. semilanceata confirmation?
    #27009178 - 10/28/20 08:17 PM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Hey all, longtime cyan hunter here. I've been working on learning to ID other actives while I'm out hunting and think I may have come across Psilocybe semilanceata tonight - could I get your input?

Habitat: Washington State, under Douglas firs in a woodchip/grass mix.

Waiting on a spore print, but initial observation is that it does look purple.

They're a bit dry, which is why most are cream colored, but some are displaying a hygrophanous cap. Most cyans I've found over the past few days have been cream colored because of the lack of rain as well. They also have the distinct dark ring around the bottom of the cap.

This ID looks pretty good to me, but I'm mostly confused because I thought they mostly grew in fields and not wood chips? I was just out hunting for cyans haha. Let me know if I can provide more info!
