Incubator. TiT or heat mats?

Hi
I'm having issues controlling my heat properly so I'm thinking of creating an incubator. I did some research and currently come across two ways of doing it. Tub in tub with water and tub with a heat mat and a rack. Any advantages on one over the other?

What issues are you having with controlling heat? Are you fruiting on your porch?
Cubes germinate, colonize & fruit fine in room temperature conditions. Unless you yourself are freezing or burning up in your grow room your mushrooms should have no problem growing without an incubator or heating pad.

They all kind of suck. Be more concerned about overheating than underheating, because overheating can wreck your crop and underheating will only slow it down.
I just got an oil filled radiator space heater with a thermostat.

My room gets down to 62 °F some nights, plates and jars still grow (as do tubs). I'm having trouble with pans but they're a tropical species so probably to be expected.
I've tried an incubator for plates- just leads to massive condensation. Maybe it'll help you with jars, but it's probably not needed unless you live in an even colder place than I do.

Cubes will grown fine down into the mid 50s although they will be going pretty slowly.
Incubators work. The problem is that most DIYs are either poorly designed/constructed or used improperly(which includes using them when they're not needed). I built one out of an unmodified ice chest with a PID controller and warming mat that worked great and used hardly any power.....but wasn't needed. Now I use the ice chest as an ice chest and the other parts for home brewing.
