True that... My neighbor is selling a mid 1970's honda's motorcycle with 3k miles on it for $2 grand... I've been wanting to get into riding for a while, but I might not for safety reasons... but I mean from a collectors standpoint that would be a nice toy to have...
The problem is I'm not rich, and 2 grand would cut into my emergency fund.. and I don't NEED IT...
but.... it's a Honda 1970's bike with 3k miles( I can't say the make and model or year to protect his privacy), but.... That's about as win win as it gets.
You ride bikes right? It's easy to learn, ehh?

Why can't you say what model it is??
I do ride bikes. I fucking love riding bikes. It's pretty much my favourite thing to do and getting my licence to ride them is one of the best things I've ever done.
Not easy to learn, no. One never stops learning when it comes to riding.

Ah that's pretty cool. I'm just worried about the other drivers... Most bikers seem to be the best drivers on the road, it's the other idiots that you probably have to look out for!
It's a pretty big investment because I'd have to buy my license/class.... safety gear/helmet, etc...
But I won't be meeting with the guy till next week to discuss the deets.

Spending time on a motorbike absolutely makes you a far, far better driver. It teaches a skillset that one would just not learn only driving a car, so yes, I'm with you there.
As for the investment; yes, the initial outlay is a lot, especially if you stump up for quality safety equipment. Again, well worth it, because it's kind of invariable that you'll have an off at some point if you ride for long enough. I've had three in a dozen years of riding and didn't have quality gear for the first and broke my foot pretty badly. After that, it was full leathers and quality boots/gloves/helmet and I only ever had bruises since.
Being a biker is a labour of love and passion though. Do it!!

OutsideOfMyMind said: hey what do you guys think of A Lexus is 250? I don't want to make a new thread because I'm not actually in the market yet but next year I probably want to buy a new used car. I'm a little sick of Toyota because they don't really get up and go real fast but I still want something super reliable.
How is the Lexus IS 250 in terms of repairs and maintenance and reliability? my mechanic and his crew told me A Lexus is a really great car very reliable. It's basically a Toyota but nicer. I was thinking maybe a 10 year old used Lexus IS 250? I test drove an IS250 about 12 years ago it was an old friend's car. It was really fun. If it's not a good car then I'll probably just get another Toyota.
From what I know lexus and the is250 is all around a good choice and will treat you well. I would just have the car checked out before buying to make sure it was taken care of and it will treat you well. I test drove one as well and was impressed. I was supposed to get one originally but the seller never came through
