car choice question

I was wondering if you like the accord or camry better as far as handling goes? I was thinking of getting a camry because they're comfortable and real reliable but I'm finding the suspension is lousy I thought I was going to loose control because its really floaty and the steering is too light aside from that i like most everything else and the engine has some nice torque. So I'm wondering if maybe an accord has stiffer suspension maybe with more road feel. I'm talking about models in the 2011 range.
I got spoiled with my subaru legacy the suspension was perfect, firm but comfortable with good road feel so I wanted something remanicent of that

I have a legacy for the same reason. I hate loose steering. Tight control is what I prefer.
Not sure on the accord though.

I do think an Accord would handle better yes
And dude I'm liking those new Accords

They have an Audi A7-ish look to them a little bit

Haven't drove either one, but I recently had to change my struts/control arms/tie rods/sway bar end links and a 10 year old car might need the same kind of work done. This might be why you think one feels "floaty" or "loose". I'd consider the mileage and maintenance and cost when making the decision between the two. Toyota has a better reputation, the accord might be more DIY repair friendly.

That's a good point.id just stick with subaru they're my favorite there's just something about them but the two I had didn't last as long as I wanted so I have to try something else. Yeah the new accords are nice they have the turbo too so theyre kind of quick

Buying the Camry will immediately degrade your driving abilities and you will become a nuisance ov the roadways. See https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Toyotadope for an outlining ov the disease that is Toyota ownership. Go with the accord or stick with the subarus if you do'nt mind a diet ov head gaskets, catalytic converters and rust, not to mention all the vaping supplies that subaru owners steam through with abandon.

Toyotas and Hondas have very resilient engines. Meaning if you are bone dry on oil, it will probably still run surprisingly well. One time my old Corolla was bone dry on transmission oil. I took it to my mechanic for some work and he discovered it was bone dry. His whole crew was surprised the car hadn't stalled completely. Another time I was bone dry on engine oil, still ran and everything. I don't do that anymore. I check my oils now. I also got the leaks fixed altogether.
That Toyota you tested might need a replacement somewhere in the wheel, tire or steering department. You'd be surprised how one small replacement makes the steering nearly perfect. I thought I needed an alignment but all I needed was a new tire and the steering went straight again even with my hands off the wheel.
For driveability, you should probably go with the Honda because Hondas are made more for the driver where as Toyotas are made more for economics. People who really like to drive and go fast get a Honda where people who just want a simple car that does everything they need gets a Toyota. They are both good cars though.
I heard somewhere that accords get broken into a lot more than a lot of other cars so be careful with that.

Subaru are cheaper for a reason. They're disposable. Expect 100k miles then tons of issues. Thin, soft paint that scratches like none other.
They drive pretty nice before you beat up the suspension though, for sure
I don't think you can go wrong with Toyota or Honda
My personal preference is Toyota

Toyotas are easier to repair because they share a lot of parts with other car manufacturers.Toyota's last a long time. 200,000 mi is basically breaking the car in and then it will last much longer than that as long as you take care of it.

Accord. Those things go forever with basic maintenance.

Sounds good I'm leaning towards the accord because it sounds like they handle better and my OCD needs responsiveness in a car. I do have a soft spot for camrys though maybe it's toyota in general but they have that tractor feel to them

I'll admit, Toyotas sort of have a fragile feel to them like they were made with the cheapest parts that will still hold up well. Not cheap in a bad way but just you can sort of tell that some of the things are just cheaply made in the interior. One like you mentioned the steering wheel handling. I've had to replace my door handle a couple times. The outer door handles are broken also so I have to open it in a weird way but I sort of like that because it's sort of a security feature because nobody knows how to open the doors except me and my mechanic.

Toyota’s are basically appliances. I currently own one with 190k on it. It’s been very reliable. It’s also probably the least sexy vehicle I have ever owned. It’s fucking pathetic in its own utilitarian greatness.
My Saab 9-5 broke 300k, I still have it but I’m probably sending it off the yard soon. It was not always an easy car to maintain but it was a fucking great car in many ways. Very fast for a four door saloon, extremely comfortable, and looked great doing it.
If you want something that handles well buy a German car. Even cheap VW’s handle great (I’ve owned 6). Don’t expect the same reliability though. Even BMW’s are pretty shit maintenance wise.
My current long distance driver is a VW Sportwagen TDI. It’s basically an Audi but was cheaper. Great driving car but its constantly got nagging issues. 47mpg and 300 ft/lb of torque is pretty sweet though, especially for $12k.
I get a $800 a month stipend for a work car so I go through cars quickly. I have put 60k on a car in a single year. So when a car starts having issues some times I have to just move on.

I like Toyota because they make great trucks.
Million-mile pickups, their successor the tacoma, the classic land cruiser... and the current 4-runner is undoubtedly the best looking SUV on the market, and also probably the toughest and most reliable.

Honda just made that goofy Ridgeline which was basically like a minivan with a bed.
For trucks, definitely toyota. Passenger car? Whatever you prefer

If you're concerned about handling then why are you looking at a Camry or Accord?

hey what do you guys think of A Lexus is 250? I don't want to make a new thread because I'm not actually in the market yet but next year I probably want to buy a new used car. I'm a little sick of Toyota because they don't really get up and go real fast but I still want something super reliable.
How is the Lexus IS 250 in terms of repairs and maintenance and reliability? my mechanic and his crew told me A Lexus is a really great car very reliable. It's basically a Toyota but nicer. I was thinking maybe a 10 year old used Lexus IS 250? I test drove an IS250 about 12 years ago it was an old friend's car. It was really fun. If it's not a good car then I'll probably just get another Toyota.

I don't care what kind of thing you're getting from a tiller, to a lawn mower, to a motorcycle, to a car( and lots of others) HONDA is a very reliable brand of motor/make if basic maintenance is kept up with.
I had a 1990's something accord a long time ago with 275,000 miles on it I bought for like $500 and drove that sucker till like 320,000( only basic upkeep) and then sold it for $300 and the other guy drove it for a while before scrapping it for $200.. haha!
I hear it over and over that HONDA is a well made engine. But nothing can replace BASIC CARE MAINTENCE .
Know how to inspect a car before buying.

Same here. Loved Accords ever since.
Although I have a Honda Legend now for the extra luxury.
