Hardwood Substrate Monotub Won't Fruit

After several grows, I am trying monotubs for the first time. First few flushes with coir/verm 50/50 have been insane but two tubs with one of my variations on substrate - 50 hardwood pellets / 50 coir - just will not fruit. I scraped off all the top layer about 10 days ago and the tub looks the exact same. Going on 21 days in fruiting conditions. Myc is strong, has water droplets. Is next to tubs fruiting like crazy. Should I add a top layer of coir?
tl;dr
Strain - Melmack Reverted Days in Fruiting - 21d Natural light - indirect Droplets on the visible myc Misting twice daily with rotating fan in room (sitting next to coir/verm tubs fruiting like crazy) Substrate - 50% Hardwood / 50% Coir Will not fruit.

Why would you try and grow a dung lover on wood??? That’s the problem. Here let’s feed a lion turnips and kale for a month and see how it does.
Edit: not trying to jump down ya man, just that wood is known to be a poor substrate for cubes.

Because I'm an IDIOT. I didn't know, now I know.
Ya, I saw that mold from the pic and scooped it out. Thank you.
Anything I can do to salvage? It's strong myc - leaning towards a light top layer of coir and time.
Pics of first flush from coir/verm 50/50 in the tub next to them.

I'd toss that moldy wood.
They may fruit b4 mold death(doubt it) but itll be a pathetic harvest...and not because of the mold.

Ah alright. I'll get as much of the hardwood out as possible, throw a layer of coir on top and see what happens for fun then. HUGE thank you for your help here!

Uhh ok. You're welcome?
My advice was to toss the whole thing not just the wood but I guess that wasnt clear

So I added a 1/8" layer of coir to the top of one of these tubs and it fruited some monstroseties. Some of it is pretty blue, some of it is very yellow and white. In either case, they're huge.
Is the white/yellow fruit garbage?

I haven't seen anything like that outside of the gourmet side. It would be the result of a bacterial contaminated culture/spawn over there. That is my guess here. I am very curious to see if they are ok as well!

Ha! Nice one dude. The blue is just bruising, all good.
Those look pretty weighty, did you weigh the harvest? I'd be interested.
And did you pasturize or just hydrate and spawn?
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night

There's about 10 blobs weighing between 70 and 160g wet so roughly 700 - 1600g wet from the flush and ya, they're heavy.
The spawn was from rye wheat berries. The substrate for fruiting in the monotub was 100% hardwood pellets which was pasturized at 11PSI for 90 minutes in a PC. I did leave it to colonize for 10 days before moving to fruit. It had a 1/8" layer of hardwood on top.
The myc has solid colonization but would not fruit, period. I left it in fruiting conditions for 3 weeks without so much as a pin. I threw on a 1/8" layer of coir and it cultivated it within a couple days, then fruited these blobs shortly after. They're heavy and dense. I would mist often as the hardwood on top looked to dry out almost daily.
There was definitely contamination - greenish, spreading quickly, my guess is trich. I cut out the offending portion but it spread after these fruits so I'm not going to try for a second flush with this.
The substrate wasnt very dense and these blobs almost lifted off of it.

Melmak blobs out often, especially when you use wood and not hpoo or regular casing like peat, verm, gypsum, etc.
