Jk, you can grab them at the base and twist lightly and they come off easily from BRF cakes. Nice fruit

Grip the base of the stem and tilt/push it towards the substrate. In most cases this causes it to cleanly separate/snap off from the substrate, often closer than you can cut it off with scalpel while avoiding pulling off a bunch of substrate.

Twisting them out will pull a bunch of sub with it in my experience, maybe you get a bit more weight out of it, I don't really want to eat sub though. After awhile I got tired of both and end up just cutting them off with a scalpel, finding it to be the fastest and cleanest way. A short pair scissors or even some slightly curved trimming shears might be even faster.

All in all, it doesn't really matter so go with whatever you prefer.
