Looks like there's something happening here in NJ. My first fall fruits that I didn't have to drive 3 hours to pick.

This spot a my honey hope this past spring. They rechipped half of it with what looks like pine. Oh well, got myself a nice puffball (which was delicious) and a few nice hen of the woods while I was there.

Found some popping in a new spot in the floodplains, very difficult hunting this time year because of all the leaves. Probably stepped on a bunch before I even saw one.

Pittsburgh area. Found in natural habitat along a creek on wood debris. Meaty fall fruits
It can be hard to spot them among the leaves. Best advice I can give is look for white/blue caps poking through and then check everywhere around that find. Could've easily filled two plastic shopping bags but ran out of daylight.

When would be the best time temp wise to hunt for these bad boys? I haven’t found them in the wild yet, but I can feel it in my bones that this is the season. We are still having some higher temps here in Ga.

Temps up here been in mid 50s day and low 40s at night. It's been raining on and off the past week too. I'd say if the conditions are similar that is the best time to look. I've also found them in January when it was low 40s and 30s. Good luck

Sweet info! That’s what I was thinking. It’s been in the high 70’s here lately. So temps should drop consistently here like that in a month or so. Found the typical habitat with a creek, overflow, and box elders. Can’t wait! Thanks, and happy hunting!

Impressive fall haul, Wish I had time to really search, got a sweet buzz from munching some freshies right out the ground tho so it's all good. Maybe this weekend I'll go out with a buddy who has been begging me to teach him the ways of the voids.
Debris piles can explode in the fall if conditions are right. Especially the really large ones that are too fresh to fruit in the spring.

Right on shroomhunts Get out there and look why we got this cold wet spell. I spent about 15 minutes at that particular spot and got that many. Plan to go to a few different spots earlier in the day tomorrow. All the tall shits dead too so navigating thru the habitat was easy. Just use tick spray, the STDs of the forest were everywhere. Good luck friend!
