Healthy mycelium or sneaky contam?
    #27006196 - 10/27/20 11:57 AM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Hey people,

A while back I received some spores from wild Psylocibe azurescense (taken in the field by a friend, prob quite dirty). I thouhgt I managed to germinate some, and isolate some of the healthy agar. After (I think) 3 transfers, taken from young mycelium I got this (21-10-2020):

My plan was to do a last transfer with these 2 cultures to new plates before using it. Life got buissy though so they were left to colonize sometime.
Today I planned on doing my transfers, but upon inspection of the plates I noticed a new growth of...  something (don't mind the bacteria btw, I am aware and would just have to transfer these out):

The growth in the top almost must be a contam right?
Have I just been transferring a tricky look-a-like contam all this time?
And if that might be so, how could I figure out wether it's a contam or desired product?
Fruiting these shrooms takes a while, so that just doesn't seem like the simplest solution to me.
Hope someone can help me out a bit!

Cheers,
-Wii
