Do you notice anything that leads to light caps like those?

Most of my best tubs the pins were all a darker reddish color, the times I’ve had light caps they mostly grew really small and thicker.

This is how the good ones look.

They should darken up as they get bigger...I believe it’s just veil and haven’t really noticed a correlation between the white and small fruit.  My last grow did the same.

These fruit:

Like 1/8”.  I lay down a dusting of play sand directly on the sub and then case.  Here’s my casing recipe:
Jiffy:Verm:Sand 1:1:.5 Pasteurized

oh wow, i guess this is all new since your thread huh? i thought the recipes you tested with less than 50% sand didnt do as well (if i recall correctly). when did you make the change (or am i misunderstanding something)?

im still using jiffy:sand 1:1 (w a little oyster flour and hydrated lime), and love it

never tried dusting or adding extra verm, would love to hear more about your casing recipe adventures

Yeah, it’s a slight deviation from my tests and is actually what I used on my last documented grow.  The way I see it is that the dusting of sand between the casing and the sub makes up for the difference.  Of course, I haven’t tested it and could be getting sub par results.  I’ve also used the crush shell powder to raise the ph and it seemed to work fine.  Almost threw some in this batch but said fuck it.  This grow is actually from a year old quart with no stones that looked like shit.

Galindoi been putting these Tamp "Pollock" to shame in terms of cap size and stone production.
Grown side by side, Pollock only has slightly better pinset and straighter fruits but otherwise Gali's been stuntin on em.

Curious to see if these tiny ass caps have any spores to drop.

Harvested this funky looking guy this morning. As it was growing i though that two mushrooms had grown together and was expecting a crazy cap.

Alt#7

Managed to get one radom cluster and a couple stones that popped thru my casing layer before I spotted the mean green lurking at the bottom of my tub which got whisked off and buried in garden
Least I got a chance to clone both stones and a couple fruits for something to work with again soon

Does that stone in the sub have shrooms wrapping around it or something??

Idk why but I hardly ever see much myc with stone producers, so many people post grows with crazy colonization.

Was hoping for a fuller set but not too shabby for a rando culture from an ancient jar.
