Hello guys I'm gonna do a casing with coir and verm and don't know how much water is needed. I have 2 small 90 gr bricks and that's about 1600 ml when hydrated.Gonna do that with 2 quart verm. How much water would you think is needed for that ? 180 gr coir and 2 quart verm

I think 2 quart verm goes with 1 brick of coir which weighs 650g. Look up the bucket tek. Someone else more experienced might be able to chime in. But search tools your friend.

That’s a pretty high verm ratio. Coarse verm is around 100g per qt, fine verm probably a bit more. I don’t know what the water holding difference is between the two but for 650-680g coir and 200g verm I use 3 qts of water. I mist my top layer heavily after spawning though so that adds some more moisture to the sub. You can get some rough math and scale down from there but you really just need to see what it takes to get to field capacity with your materials. Start lower on water because it’s much easier adding than taking away. I don’t like adding a lot of verm to deal with water because the mix starts to feel off.
Are you making a casing or bulk sub to mix with your grains?

I'm not looking for a substrate ratio. I have used 1 brick and 2 quart verm for my bulk substrate. It's my CASING.
I'm doing 40 % coir 60 % verm roughly.
Anybody knows how much water is needed approximately?

CLICKY THE LINKY:

But since searching is such a task, BOD mentions something in the article saying he multiply coir weight by 5 to get your water weight.
Sooooo 180*5=900 -=-==->>> for a total of .9 L.
Take a look, its worth a read. It's what I use.
