Clone or boof this chungus
    #27005584 - 10/27/20 12:55 AM (3 years, 3 months ago)

So I've been growing out a PESA clone from one of my last grows, and I'm surprised by the variety. Very inconsistent overall, but today I noticed this BIG BOI in one of my shoeboxes:

Earlier today:

Couple hours later:

It would be cool to have a tub full of this fatties, but my current clone culture isn't running nearly as consistent as I expected. Would I give similar fruits if I cloned this or is it really just a crap shoot genetically speaking?

They look funny and inconsistent because of conditions. Your sparse pinset is also telltale. They'll look better in better conditions

Would you or another more experienced grower care to elaborate? Listing my conditions below for reference

I have a big respect for surface conditions because I absolutely failed my first couple tubs due to poor conditions. I did lots of research and found that the SFF Teks work best for me, even with an unmodified monotub. I grew this canopy using that Tek:

The only difference I see between the above tub and my current run is tub size and genetics

When making sub, everything is done to precise measurements. When spawning, I spend lots of time mixing and leveling at spawn+sub level and the casing layer, but the ratios are eyeballed. While in fruiting, my casing layer stays pretty moist, but I do have to sometimes mist a bit. Also, sometimes the condensation from the roof and walls of my tub will drip heavily along the sides and over saturate my casing layer near the wall. Temps remain an average of 72-73F, mostly from a central air system, but temps are dropping in my area, and we don't have to run A/C all the time. Window shades cracked so my tubs get about 12 hours of indirect sunlight. Lids stay snapped on until fruits show up unless I notice it drying up.

I'm honestly not sure how to make conditions better. I figured the way my fruits were growing was either a genetics issue or a conditions issue. If it really is a conditions issue, I would greatly appreciate someone helping me wrap my mind around it.

Sometimes your substrate is too wet or dry. Sometimes you needed more or less fae.

Sometimes it really is just genetics. If you're getting reliable flushes that look as awesome as that one then I would definitely consider the genetics before the conditions. Forgive me though when I see a new person and they have a goofy pinset and goofy shrooms 95% or more of the time it's something they did wrong not the dna.
