Which password manager are you using?
I am using BitWarden. Most password managers you can store locally and be in charge of without uploading it to the cloud.

Pretty much any reputable password manager is better than re-using a password across multiple sites, or using weak passwords because they're easier to remember. I got lazy and paid the price. The only thing is, with a password manager all your passwords are consolidated into one central store, so that's a weak point. If it gets compromised somehow, all of your passwords could be exposed. It's important that your password manager implements encryption properly, that any supporting infrastructure is secure, and ideally the code has been third-party audited. Beyond that it's just a question of price, convenience, and cross-platform compatibility.
I use KeePass on my computer along with Kee in my browser, and on my phone I use KeePassDX. All of those are open-source apps with good reputations. I store my password database on Google Drive, secured with a passphrase I remember and a key file that I keep locally. This is a free and flexible solution that works across multiple devices and operating systems. Along with strong, unique passwords for every site and 2-factor authentiction (via Authy) whenever supported, I consider it very secure.

What Ythan said is pretty spot on.
Everyone should use a password manager, the only downside is that the password manager you choose has to be very reliable and secure because you're creating a single point of vulnerability for all your passwords. So not only do you need to choose a reliable and secure password manager, but you also need to make sure you use an exceptionally strong (and long) password for it, and ideally 2fa for it as well.
In addition, you should always use 2fa for all the sites you visit, based on an authenticator app or a physical hardware encryption key (or phone number only if you can't use an app or key). Make sure that all of your passwords are different, randomly generated, and as long as possible. Even so, it's still good security practice to change your passwords at least once a year.
You should also look into hardware encryption keys: https://store.google.com/product/titan_security_key

Yes, that's why it makes sense to vet your password manager carefully and use one with a good reputation.
Consider that your eggs may already be in one basket anyway. If someone breaks into your primary e-mail account, they can request password resets for all the associated services. You have to be able to trust your password manager the same way you have to be able to trust your e-mail provider.

I use my mind. I use an algorithm to develop passwords for different things. So if I forget my password I can usually get it right based on my rules for how I developed it in the first place.

I use LastPass and I have always read that it is as secure as something like it can be. Really, it's probably safer to write your passwords down in a notebook on your desk, but much less convenient.

I've been using keepass/keepassxc for more than 20 years and they are the best. Support every os, available on phones and not to mention that they are open source. To make it more secure you can use an extra key file which you can store it on a different location.
The next best thing is probably bitwarden, but it stores the database online which is not ideal. Good for your day to day site passwords, but not for something more secure.
LastPass had been hacked multiple times.

I use FIDO and Yubico key.
Pretty much uncrackable.

Using a fido2 and yubico key is very good security practice.
The only risk with this approach is that you need to have a backup yubico key stored in a secure location.
