Did you Vote Yet? * 2
    #27003263 - 10/25/20 06:04 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Im finally checking out my voting ballet today. Looks pretty simple. My local measures are pretty interesting, such as raise taxes for Law Enforcement support (hell no) and raising taxes on tobacco products (yes).

But my favorite measure is Measure 109: "Allow Manufacture, Delivery, administration of psilocybin at supervised, licensed facilities; imposes two-year developmental period". Thats a Hell Yes! :mushroom2: :mushroomgrow:

Whats some of your State measures that you are voting on?

Damn what state is that? Colorado?

NJ ballots have #1 recreational weed (yes)

#2 250$ property tax deductions for veterans who didn’t serve in time of war (yes)

#3 constitutional amendment to change the legislative redistricting schedule if census data is delayed
Maybe some can explain this one to me it reads:

The constitutional amendment changes when new legislative districts are created if the federal census data is delayed. Do United States Constitution requires that the census be taken every 10 years to count the people living in the country. Sense of data is then used to create new legislative districts to ensure residents have equal representation from elected officials. However the current COVID-19 Pandemic has delayed census data collection. This may delay census data to the states and may affect The creation of new legislative districts. The state constitution requires an appointment Commission to create new legislative districts every 10 years after the Federal Census is completed. If the census data is delayed the new legislative districts may not be created in a timely manner to hold elections. The constitutional amendment requires the commission to delay creating the new districts if the governor receives the federal census data after February 15 of the year ending in one. The commission will adopt the new districts after the November general election but not later than March 1 of the year ending two. The new districts will then be used starting with the legislative elections in the year ending in three. They will continue to be used until the new districts are again created by the appointment commission after the next federal census. For the June primary and November general elections in the year ending in one senators in the assembly members will use their existing districts to run for a term of two years. The old districts will also be in fact in the year ending into if any legislative election is held in that year. This amendment requires the commission to begin conducting its business when the governor receives the census data. Nothing in this amendment will alter the appointment of the members of the commission made by the state political party chairs pursuant to article 4 section 3 paragraph one of the state constitution on or before November 15 and certified by the Secretary of State on or before December 1 of the year in which the census is taken.

I made sure to register back in August. We got our mail ballots and got together to discuss how we would vote on each, um, thing to vote on.

I'm not so sure about the release of grey wolves.

Any thoughts on grey wolves, koods?

Oops, forgot to add that. Its Oregon.

Yeah thats a weird one. Why is the delay needed because of the Census? Does have have to do with voting somehow? Doesnt make sense to me....

So I did some research on redistricting, pretty complicated stuff. they redistrict the state every 10 years into categories based on race, wealth, political views? (Someone correct me if I’m wrong). So they’re saying they can’t do that because the census has changed dramatically since 2010. I voted no, to not to change the state constitution and to create new district lines without the updated census.

Can someone please tell me what California's prop 24 means exactly? I need to know what exactly Yes means and what exactly no means because they want to confuse the fuck out of the literature. Every different website I read just confuses me the fuck more.

I think the most interesting prop is 22 which a no vote means that you want app based workers to be paid as employees and not independent contractors. Uber spent a lot of money trying to get people to vote Yes but fuck that. I voted no because uber drivers should be paid by the hour.

I got 100 friends in each swing state to vote 3rd party, that way the Democrats can blame me when they lose the easiest election in history for the second time in a row.

First time I ever voted a straight blue ticket. Probably the easiest vote ever. Didn't even consider the policy specifics, because fuck the GOP. Scumbags, all of them.

Gerrymandering works better with fresh demographic data from the census

I voted for the rich old white guy, and in my state for the 'right' for auto repair shops that aren't dealers to actually be able to still repair your car, and ranked choice voting.

Got my ballot in the mail and dropped it in the slot at city hall.

65 million ballots have already been counted. That’s more the half the total vote in 2016
