Mylar Grow Tents
    #27003254 - 10/25/20 05:59 PM (4 years, 2 months ago)

I'm thinking of getting at least a 10x10 black mylar tent that are common in cannabis grows to use as a fruiting chamber. Who here has experience with large scale greenhouse style grows like I want to attempt.

Most people use cheap storage tubs as a fruiting chambers. Takes up far less space. Way easier to dial in

I have a whole shelf of those going lol. I'm interested in growing other species at some point so I want to start moving into actual grow rooms. Space isn't an issue.

Here's Asura's pan cyan grow room, probably pretty similar to what you're going for

That's awesome I would have never of thought of just using the shower lol. I'm leaning more towards the black mylar tent. I follow southwest mushrooms on youtube and he use's them exclusively for his fruiting chambers. I'm just looking for tips on how to dial them in.

I have a 10 x 10 grow tent for my oysters and lion's mane.  It's amazing although does take some work to dial in.  You'll need a humidity controller (inkbird is great) and a large humidifier.  I made a DIY tub humidifier with a fan attached and some ducting running it into the tent, but you can also just have the humidifier inside the tent like the southwest guy.  I also have two fans, one blowing in and one one sucking out that turn on for a minute once every 7 minutes.  The fan that sucks air out is vented to my window so the CO2 can get out.  Honestly it works great and I'm extremely happy with the purchase.  I also believe my tubs that I have in there do better as well too as I live in an extremely dry environment.

Don't forget you're going to need a couple lights and shelving so it's a bit of an upfront cost, but worth every penny if you really want to get into the hobby.

Hey thanks for the reply! I've seen the DIY plans for the tub humidifier on this site so that's not a big deal. I've already factored in shelving and lighting cost, I'm planning on two tents one for psilo species and one for gourmets. How do you keep your tent from flooding?
