How do you distinguish between the two based on the pictures I showed?

Coprinellus Micaceus Is One Of The Easiest Mushrooms To Identify, They Don't Look Like Psilocybe Semileanceata

Because coprinellus looks nothing like ps semilanceata

Ok right, obviously there is some sort of *superficial resemblance* in terms the shape of the cap
the differences I can point out are
-thickness of the stem relative to how large the cap is
-the coloration of the coprinellus cap being a bit more yellow than semilanceata controlling for freshness
-the lack of a pointed tip in the center of the cap that semilanceata is supposed to have

Any others I'm missing?

Different flesh texture, different substrate. While P. semilanceata is pliant, has a viscid cap surface
which also is hyrgophanous, and grows directly from soil in grass, C. micaceus is rather fragile , has
a dry non-hygrophanous cap, and grows from wood, however sometimes buried so it can appear terrestrial.
