okay my rye grain stinks like ass when i PC it, is this supposed to happen?

gonna try just pure spore innocculation today, my chucnk of myco innocs did not work.

but again, does everyones rye stink ? :)

Yes, it has an unpleasant aroma about it after 45 minutes or so becoming stronger the longer you cook it. I think I've finally found a good way to get rye to work. Steep with gypsum (about 1 gram for every quart you plan to make) for 30 minutes until the very first berries begin to burst. Drain immediately and spoon into jars. Cook for 90 minutes at 15 pounds. Haven't lost a jar yet out of 28 but that isn't very many so we shall see. It will look a little dry but the mycelium just whips right through it. Good luck- you'll need it with rye.
