Pan cyans
    #27000201 - 10/23/20 06:13 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Just got back with these. I found these during the rain and now it there is a Thunderstorm and it is 70°  97% humidity .  South Louisiana .  They look pretty clean to me. Though some are dark A photo got blurry from the dark and rain

The pan cyans look clean from the rain This one with the flat cap looks nice

you are on to something here,

they look like Panaeolus Cyanescens to me

discard those black ones though, past there prime.

It really surprised me years ago how well they do in cool weather, great little mushrooms and I prefer them over cubensis any day.

My favorite too though ps caerulescens is a very close contender. Im surprised how well they fruit and how consistently they'll fruit all the way to several days of 32f as long as it stays wet. The patch I have doesn't even start fruiting until night time Temps get in the low 50 high 40 and only gets better as the Temps drop

Have you ever thought about getting one of the thermometers used to check the temperature of meat to see what the substrate temperature may be?

Im actually going to start collecting my own data on mine, ground temp being one. I've always been curious why these fruit cold but FL species fruit super hot. I also want to get them sequenced and studied by an actual mycologist some day.
