Myan Contradiction?

I’ve been watching Psychedelica on Gaia and they reference the Mayans a lot on taking mushrooms and other psychedelics. When I take mushrooms I feel like I want to love more and do better. So, these myans were tripping balls but would sacrifice people and have slaves. That’s the last thing I would ever want to do while having a trip.
Then there is the “Holy mushroom theory” where the aminita muscaria that is a lot of Christian art. I never taken a 🍄 but I’ve read it’s very different then psilocybin. I think cubes are more spiritual then then the aminita. There is also the theory of the aminita muscaria being the story of Santa clause. Joe Rogan explains it and there is a great point he makes. If you haven’t seen the clip on joe Rogan please look it up on YouTube it is very interesting..
Anyway 😊 🙏🏼

Well you have to think about your life now as it is with the world that surrounds you, and their lives then, as it was with the world surrounding them.
They had certain beliefs and rituals that just do not coincide with what we have in a modernized western culture. Let’s say you started practicing something along those lines and it became part of you family system. Your children may continue to do those things because that’s what they were brought up to do and so forth.
Yes, I would agree that there is absolutely no way that I would partake in something like that right here right now. I have been groomed from a young age to see the world not only through my eyes but with all the outside influences from family, friends, strangers, coworkers, media, etc.
I get what you are saying, but it’s just a different world with different beliefs and structures set in place.
On a side note, I have personally had some very strange thoughts/visions while tripping. It’s my belief that they are based from an accumulation of life experience and how I personally view the world.
Thank you for your post, it got me thinking.
I also like the folklore of the amanita and Santa being based in shamanic roots. It makes sense to me. I have shared that with other people and it was not as well received. Lol so to each their own right?
Take care OP and good topic!

Human sacrifice is degenerate, and I think the High Priests were completely messed up doing their jobs of magically controlling the crowds with horror spectacles (similar to gladiator shows in Rome).
The elite required this service.
How they worked mushroom in is not conceivable to me, but they were not always murderous, and may have an older original mushroom culture that involved no sacrifices or conquering armies, similar to Maria Sabina.
Basically we do not know.

I just ordered this book https://www.amazon.com/Immortality-Key-Uncovering-History-Religion/dp/1250207142 Joe Rogan interviews this author also but he has found scientific evidence that connects the lost, psychedelic sacrament of ancient Greek religion to early Christianity which is awesome. I would assume this is why the aminita is pictured in christian art bc people used it. I cant wait to read this one!!

Awesome thanks I’m gonna check to see if there is a Audio version to purchase if not I’ll just get the book too. Religion and psychedelics is very interesting to me. I was a Christian before. Then I had some mushroom trips, then smoked dmt and now I just believe in a higher power. I watched that Ram Dass documentary yesterday becoming no one or something like that. I am more attracted to Ram Dass ideology on spirituality.
Has anyone here taken aminita muscaria? Can you please post your experience and how it differs from cubes.

We have to remember that the mayans where not the only ones to have contact with entities. Cortez would be visited in his dreams by an angel that would guide him on conquering lands. There has been many people through out history that have received messages from strange things.
We also have to remember that what we might conceive of good or bad might not be correct or even relevant. There is also the more obvious answer that they were just mad. Regardless they thought to have had contact with their god and they might have had the message wrong or just right.
