    #27000568 - 10/23/20 10:01 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Found growing in a heavily coniferous forest NW Wa park.. on the side of the trail. Sorry kinda exhausted from a long day so not much of a description just pictures.

It's certainly a Lactarius Sp.
It might be L.Rubrilacteus. What colour milk did it bleed?

My fault should have added these. Pics taken right after being cut with my knife. Red I would say.

If it was red then I agree that it's Lactarius rubrilacteus.

I tried to squeeze it a bit to get it to ooze but it didn’t really seem to “bleed” much. That looks red to you too though yeah? Thanks mate.

Not sure if the white spots in those last photos are just reflections of light...
But yeah. I'd say so.

As in the flesh should be red all the way through from the gills to the cap? I’ll be able to examine it tomorrow better in daylight. Never saw any red latex type material ooze out, but on the first photos you can see a more whiteish clear type of liquid creeping out the gills.

Nah not in its entirety. The way it shows in the second photo is how it should be (on the edges). Cut the stem too as it should also be visible there.

The spots I’m referring to are within the red part...

Could just be condensation mixing with the original secretions. You’re probably better off looking for fresher ones. They look a little weathered.

I vote  L. rubril because of the reddish milk  and the green stains. I’m pretty sure those things separate it from L deliciosus
