All, I am unsure what I found and if it's safe for consumption, I'm at the PNW and stumbled upon an amount growing on a random garden with mulch, most actually had lots of black spots, were kinda falling apart and seemed quite old. I wonder if the black stuff on it is a mold contamination, can anyone clarify please?
Although the caps and steams don't bruise blue, I believe I spotted filaments of blue/green. Question. What I found exactly?
Spore print coming soon, sorry I am curious and rushed.
Appreciatively,

Thank you for your quick reply. Is it safe to consume the black staining ones which seem older? The patch I found seemed quite destroyed, I think I got lucky!

It’s probably just natural decay. If they smell bad or fall apart easily, leave them.
Otherwise the dark powdery stuff on the caps are spore deposits.

Thank you again! I was very preoccupied. I already discarded all the mushrooms, it was a thrill finding it.

I enveloped them in pasteurized cardboard and I discarded on special locations where it may grow healthy! Will update if any growth after the rains. Fingers Crossed!
We need more rain I hope it comes!
