Do these kill trees quickly? Or does it take years? I like that tree I hope I don’t have to get it chopped down anytime time soon

We had a fruitless mulberry tree that had these guys fruiting every fall out of the thick horizontal roots. I think I watched this for a decade and the health and growth rate of the tree didn't seem to regress a bit. I don't know, maybe this tree was particularly healthy?

Alexjones keep an eye on the upper top foliage...that usually starts to go first. It’s hard to know how long but when the top starts to go that’s a bad sign.

The number of people posting Armillaria tabescens growing everywhere around their yards and forests this year is overwhelming. I wonder if I never paid too much attention to them or if this thing is trying to overtake the planet.
