Grain contamination?
    #26999805 - 10/23/20 02:06 PM (4 years, 2 months ago)

Do you guys think this is contaminated, i've seen something similar but can't really remember what it was. This was g2g from a not-so-good lc to grain and the oats didn't seem too wet before pcing them. How should i avoid this?

The black dots... don't look good. It looks like unhulled oats. I have had terrible success with them. I'm switching to bird seed, though much of my problems likely lie within my own flawed methodology.

I'd wait and see for a few more days, but definitely quarantine the jar away from anything else. It is probably contaminated. It doesn't look healthy, so chalk it up as a loss and don't expect much.

I've been using unhulled oats for a while and most of them seem fine (besides the black dots, but i don't think that's contam), i've tried rye berries as well and it looks like they colonize at the same time, oats are just a bit cheaper here.. Mostly what im concerned about though is them pressing up against the jar and looking really wet/almost oily?
