Not sure what you mean by "flushed".  Typically a "flush" refers to a set of fruits that is produced.  Do you mean rehydrated?

i think so, so after your first grow, I believe you are supposed to do a process where you dunk the cakes in water and then dry and dunk to start the next fruiting stage

I haven't heard of dunking twice, and I'm not sure that'd be necessary.  I'd just soak the cakes in water in the fridge for 24 hours or so.  You'll have to push/weigh them down with something to submerge them since they float.  Once that's done, pop 'em back in your fruiting chamber.

I think you are thinking of "dunk and roll" Its common for people to put their cakes underwater over night after a harvest, then roll them in fresh vermiculite. If using a bulk substrate you can skip the additional vermiculite.

Do people do the roll between flushes?  I hardly ever do cakes, but I've always thought the roll was just after birthing.

U must be thinking of Cannabis "Flushing" which is completely different than a Mushroom grow Flush, which is a bunch mushrooms grown in one set.

Dunk and Roll means Dunking your cakes under cold water for 12-24 hours then Rolling them in dry vermiculite.

Check out Ziran's Tek, he has a Dunk and Roll tek near the middle of his super-post: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24179086#24179086

:awesome:

i don't know about cannabis, so what does it mean when people say you can get about 3 flushes out of a cake, like whats the process?

I have found that it makes the second flush stronger when you don't roll the first time, harvest, dunk, then roll. Cakes are not extremely efficient so I don't do them either.

I would be careful about using a normal fridge for mycology stuff. A food fridge has lots of natural contams. Ideally someone would have a small fridge for mycology use only.

The process for getting many flushes is simply gain more experience and refine your unique tek. There isn't really a short cut way of telling you how to do it. Keep reading this website. Get a Pressure Cooker if you want to see your success rate go way up.

The idea is to rehydrate the cakes for the next harvest, I dunk the cake under water after the first harvest for 12 hours then re roll in vermiculite and then back to fruit again.

I have gotten multiply flushes from the same cake and I have noticed that the 2nd flush has produced better than the first.

I'm on my third flush for the some cakes currently.

Good luck

Basically, you fruit a cake and when it stops growing mushrooms, you dunk it in water for 12-24 hours then fruit the cake again like u did the first flush, and repeat till the cake stops producing mushrooms.
