Is this a good idea?

So I noticed my shoebox was giving me all sidepins and no top pins so I decided to take it out of the shoebox and fruit it in open air.
I covered it in a thin layer of wet coir to keep it from drying out and if the coir gets dry I just give it a little mist and its good for another 24 hours.
They say that air exchange is what keeps pinning so what better air exchange than out in the open air?
Or should I put it outside under a bush where its humid?

There needs to be a balance bewteen FAE and RH,if you can find a way of keep the RH high and prevent the block from drying out then this could work, otherwise you might need to look into a way of keeping RH high and the block moist.

Next time you do a shoebox spray paint the bottom and sides black or use a liner. Any where receiving light will pin. And they will side pin first because its higher moisture. If i was you i would keep that coir heavaly misted. It should look a warm spring early morning dew

Alright so I put it in a humidity chamber, will this fix the humidity problem?
I was thinking of keeping the lid latched for 12 hours on 12 hours off. Is this a good idea?

Generally if the colony is not pinning on the surface it is fighting something. Increasing the FAE may help but that colony will never be as productive as a healthy one. A healthy colony will fruit everywhere but especially off the top where all the air and evap are happening.
Side pins only = something went wrong.
Practice more with your culturing methods like working with agar and try again.
Not saying you won't get a good flush out of that. Just saying that if you do it's luck.
Liners can help but light only gives them a direction to grow and does not cause side pins. Lots of people skip liners all together and it works fine so it should work for you too.

Yeah keep it heavily misted. 12 hours on and off should work as long as that coir doesnt dry out. Good luck and god speed
