First grow contaminated?

Well I've read through all of the contamination posts and pics I could find but still not confident with what I'm seeing... just too inexperienced I suppose.
Details - First grow. B+ BRF cakes spawned to CVG in shoeboxes...all via teks here on the shroomery. Just spawned to bulk yesterday and in less that 24 hours I see this growing on the surface of the casing layer (CVG lightly misted)

Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks! Thats what I was hoping but just surprised at how quickly it happened. Approx 16 hours.
Already paranoid! 🤣

Slyced, this is my version. Same exact grow. B+ cakes spawned to CV with 1/4" coir casing. Spawned this 7 days ago.

Also, how deep was your casing layer? 24 hours is crazy fast. Did you let your jars consolidate after they were at 100% colonization?

Thanks for the reply! Keep me posted!! 😁
I waited 9 days after full colonization.
My casing layer was about 1/8"
1:1.8 spawn to CVG
My only real concern with the process was my substrate may have been slightly above field capacity... say maybe 5 drops when a large handful was squeezed as hard as I could. My grip is exceptionally strong though. Lol
Water drops on the lid a concern?
What was your ratio? About how thick did you go? How many cakes per tub?
Thanks again!

Oh I forgot to mention... I do have them on a grow mat that is maintaining an 80 degree substrate temp. Maybe that's it?

I used 9 half pint jars to about 5qts of CV with 1/4" coir casing layer at spawn. This is just 1 54qt Pasty ez dial monotub. I think the moisture is due to my sub being slightly over field capacity but it is still colonizing and performing very well so I'm not really concerned. I will probably wait for the first few pins to show before going to fruiting conditions. I have a small space heater in a closet with the tub and the Temps stay around 75F. 12/12 light schedule since spawn with 6500k LED strip.

How is your grow going??
Mine seemed too wet so I made a couple 1" holes under the handles and stuffed with polyfill. Still, they seem to have stalled a bit... no noticeable improvement in at least 4 days. Not freaking out but not feeling too optimistic either. :/
9 days after spawn to bulk... pics from 4 days ago look identical

It definitely looks like your substrate is too wet and will likely stall out. Stick your head in the tub and smell it. Often bacterial infections on bulk substrate have a slight sweet smell to it. Otherwise it should smell "mushroomy".

Take some pics of your sub closer up?

Thanks for the response!
Initially it did have a slightly stronger mushroom smell just opening the door to the room. That has toned down but it still smells mushroomy inside the boxes... no sweet or other sorts of smells.
Anything I can do to save them or just have to wait it out and

I have to agree with Dukkha. I believe your sub is a bit too wet. Also concerned that you might have some cobweb mold happening but I am still brand new to all of this and don't have enough experience to ID contams yet.
How many days has it been since you spawned to bulk? Maybe a little more patience and it will happen.
I would assume you can try increasing the FAE to dry it out a bit and also help pinning at the same time? Really not sure man. Hope it works out for you.
I'm going to inoculate some of these containers with BRF and golden teacher spores today to start my next grow.

Wow... so strange how we are on the same path. I joined just 4 days after you, a week behind your first grow of B+, and I just inoculated 10 BRF jars with golden teacher last week for my 2nd grow. lol
Spawn to bulk was on 21 Oct. Healthy myc started on top of the casing layer within 24 hours.
My problem was I made 3 boxes... was concerned with the substrate depth which was about 1.5 inches. So I decided to combine one smaller box with the other two. The issue here was I had already cased all three boxes (higher moisture content and lightly misted) so when I added the one box I had to remix the two boxes which threw off the moisture content more than I had expected.
Thanks for the responses guys... I am going to drill a couple 1/4" holes on each of the long sides about an inch above the substrate and poly fill them to see if that helps. If not, I'll start all over in a few weeks with the Golden Teachers. :/

Do you have a link for a tek you are following or shooting from the hip? I've wondered about inoculating a container like that but never seen anything on it here. Definitely interested!

Haven't found a specific tek for this but I know many people have used them successfully before. Just gonna use the normal PF tek. Only difference is container shape and size.
Updated my grow log with 3 fresh pictures from a few minutes ago.

Maybe fanning them might help? More air exchange so that the water could evaporate?

Nice!! Congrats!
That looks so nice... wish mine hadn't stalled. I'm jealous! Lol
I drilled a few more holes for FAE, it has dried out a lot. Sprayed Peroxide on the cobwebs, looks a lot better but still looks stalled for 11 days in. 🥺

Thanks! Did a good bit of that but still had to drill holes. Just way too wet... lesson learned!
