What Do Y'all Think?
    #26998661 - 10/22/20 08:48 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

I Usually Wouldn't Post An ID Request Without Good Information, But One Of My Good Friends Sent Me These Pics.

They Come From His Gf In East Tx (Point Blank Area)

Only Thing Is, He's Out Of Town, She Sent Them To Him, So He Sent Them To Me & He Doesn't Have Any Info Other Than They Were Growing On A Tree Stump In Her Backyard.

I Believe They Are An Armillaria Sp, Probably Armillaria Tabescens. Can Anyone Help Confirm Or Correct My ID?

The Pics Aren't That Bad But They Aren't The Best Either & Don't Show The Gills, Any Help Is Appreciated, These Are Older Folks So I'm Going To Reccomend They Don't Eat Them Either Way

I'm thinking you're right but let's see what the smarter guys will say. I'm thinking it's definitely armillaria, tabescens or maybe mellea. Very young and few angles are provided. I heard they are good eatin' as long as harvested young

Could be armillaria tabescens or mellea, need to see pics of the stem to determine.
