Hi there i am new to growing and noticed that some of my pins have turned blue. at first, I assumed it was a good thing but I am finding out it isn't. i think its caused because of not enough water but I am not experienced so this is all just assumptions.
can someone tell me if they are safe to eat and what caused them, if there is away to rescue them or any additional information please

Those are aborts, they look like the aborted because they are too wet. Should be safe to eat as long as you don't see anything growing on them

The same thing happened to mine, its not ideal but its not *bad*.
I found it came from either having too much or too little water, or rapid changes from either one. I live in a climate with an average humidity of ~10% so my cakes dried out really quickly. I found that if the cakes dried out really quickly from not misting regularly I would have a bunch of aborts, but on the flip side if I added a bunch of water to rehydrate the cakes quickly I would get a bunch of aborts too.
Moderation is key with mushrooms, so slowly rehydrate if your cake is dry.
All that being said, they are safe to eat in my experience, its just lost opportunity to get larger mushrooms. I also found that if I harvested aborted pins right away, the other mushrooms seemed to grow a lot better. Think of it as pruning a fruit tree by pulling out the not-so-healthy fruits to maximize the health of the good fruits.
Side note, are those Rusty Whites?

erm yeh I think they are, I ordered golden teachers and they also sent me a mystery strain, and I decided to use the mystery strain first, the website I used only has 7 strains and that is the one it closet resembles out of the 7

I was wondering because it definitely looks like the same as mine.
I think Rusty White is prone to doing that, especially if its your first grow. My rustys, and my friend's as well, both had a lot of aborts and bruising. Keep patient, you will have plenty of good harvestable ones for trips, but those tiny ones are great for micro-dosing.

You'll have to see some spores to know what they are. They could easily be Leuicistic Golden Teacher which look similar to Rusty Whytes and drop regular purple spores.
All your stuff looks fine to consume BTW.
