Hey guys, I have just started colonising grow kit with bulkmix, one that you can see in the link. I have only been using colonised grow kits so far without bulkmix. Process was simple, after each harvest dunk in water for 12h and spray the tent daily. Here the instructions do not explain how to carry on after first flush. They say there is no need to spray it daily as there should be enough moisture already and if the substrate starts looking dry only gently mist it with water, I completely don't know what should I do after my first flush, just leave it and carry on waiting? Dunk and drain? Mist only after first flush? Please check the instructions there,so you know what exactly this is and give me some advice so I don't screw next flushes... Many thanks.

toss the kit and check these links out https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24144021
only mist when necessary, dont drown the substrate. you want water droplets to evaporate.
to initiate 2nd flush and further flushes, do nothing. the block will start pinning when its ready

Great, thanks. On the instructions there it says "there should be enough moisture at least for the first flush" I had no idea how am I supposed to interpret this. I need to mist the substrate directly or just the bag? As it seems a bit odd at least for someone so green like me, that if the substrate starts dry out and you only mist the bag, how much boost of moisture will it give compared to dunking other grow kits ? On the other hand if you are meant to mist it directly, but if it starts drying out while fruiting then you can't mist shrooms. I don't exactly understand how this substrate with bulk works, unlike normal grow kit where everything was pretty much clear to me.

Can someone tell me if you mist the substrate directly or just the bag, a lot of helpful pe here I see. Or maybe I'm asking too difficult questions here. Couldn't find any results online so it is too hard question.

you want tiny mist particles to hit the substrate. so mist from +6 inches away

Please explain me,mushrooms consist in 90-95% of water, dunking each kit in water gives them enough for next flushes. If bulk substrate starts drying out how couple drops of mist can give them enough boost. I'm only trying to understand.

you only need to dunk if you pull a massive first flush. you're not going to get a massive first flush from a grow kit so i wouldn't worry about dunking. misting is just to keep the surface conditions good so pins can develop, not to hydrate the sub for lost water content.

So now I get conflict opinions, first I have heard not to dunk it,now that I should actually. I really understand everything in these instructions, they just don't mention anything about rehydrating,in fact they don't even say to submerge the kit in water before first flush, just add 150ml of water then microwave. If anyone could provide me a link to detailed instructions how to deal with these coco coir and vermiculite substrates.

you can dunk it if you want.
the thing with growing mushrooms is at the end of the day you just have to figure out what works for you.

i don't know anything about your kit but there's no reason to submerge your substrate BEFORE your first flush. the only reason you would ever dunk your substrate is if you got a MEGA HUGE first flush. everyone always worries about dunking when they first start out but that's the last thing you should worry about. when you start pulling 8 oz dry or more from a substrate then you can start worrying about dunking. for now, just focus on proper fruiting conditions.
